The festive season is upon us and if, like me, you’re using it as an excuse to spoil your dogs even more than usual, I’ve found the perfect gift box that contains everything you need to make your pooch feel special this December.
Pure Pet Food has released a collection of personalised gift boxes where pet parents can treat their four-legged friends to everything they need for Christmas Day, including a toy, treats, bandana and even a bottle of pet-friendly wine.
The Deluxe Festive Hamper comes in at £29.99, and contains one of Pure Pet Food’s festive turkey recipes, complete with all the trimmings including turkey, veggies, and cranberries. The recipe features 38 per cent turkey, and depending on what you usually feed your dog, may be a little different to what you’re used to. Instead of traditional kibble, wet food or raw, Pure offers air-dried meals that need to be reconstituted with water to create a wet, nutritionally complete meal that scores an 80 per cent rating on All About Dog Food.
Pure explained: “Air-drying is an age-old way of preparing food, working by putting fresh ingredients under a low heat to remove the moisture slowly and gently. As a result, the nutrients in the food are locked in and preserved, no need for any artificial preservatives to extend its shelf life. This unique preparation method allows us here at Pure to provide your dog with tasty, high-quality meals made from natural, wholesome ingredients. It also allows your dog to enjoy healthy food that’s super convenient, it’s a win-win for both you and your pup!”
It certainly looks great, and it’s a great way to try out Pure’s meals before opting for a subscription. It’s certainly tempted us to look into signing up.
It’s not Christmas without a festive treat or two, and to celebrate the holiday season in style, there’s the Pure Turkey & Cranberry Nibbles, which are worth £4.99. Bursting with delicious goodness and packed with succulent turkey, superfood sweet potato and fresh cranberry, these Christmas treats are rich in protein and great for dogs’ optimal health – and sure to get tails wagging.
Continuing the foodie theme (that’s what Christmas is all about, right?) there are even some turkey, cranberry and sweet potato deep clean dental sticks. The pack of seven is perfect for multi-dog households and solo hounds alike, and are ideal for chomping on throughout the ‘twixmas’ part of the festive season. The textured chews are packed with Christmas inspired ingredients including cranberry and turkey along with kelp (seaweed), proven to break down plaque and freshen breath with its natural enzymes.
I love a little glass of fizz with my Christmas lunch, and the vitamin and mineral-rich Posh Pooch Wine means your dog can get in on the action, too. The non-alcoholic and non-carbonated tipple is a refreshingly hydrating drink that can be served alone, or over food to make tea time a bit more fun.
Another great Christmas tradition is that of festive pyjamas, and if you’ve not managed to get your hands on a pair for your dog – or they’re not so keen on dressing up – then three’s a festive Pure bandana tucked inside, as well as a 100% natural Green & Wild’s Ruby The Reindeer. We really love these durable eco toys because they last surprisingly well with our two enthusiastic chewers and professional de-stuffers. Their seasonal toys are deceptively tough, made from environmentally-friendly pure jute and split leather, and are twin stitched for strength over four layers of jute, filled with cotton jute rope and waste cotton.
And if you’ve not snapped up an advent calendar yet, Pure has released their first-ever Feliz Navidog Advent Calendar, which comes in at £10.99. Filled with 24 mouth-watering turkey and cranberry nibbles, each window bursting with festive goodness that is both tasty and nutritious – with absolutely no nasties.
What’s more, owners can personalise the calendar with their dog’s name, so even the naughtiest pooches will be on the nice list this year from Santa Paws.
This is such a great way to grab everything you need to make your dog’s Christmas special in one fell swoop. Keep it in the box and you’ll be able to beautifully wrap it for underneath the tree, ready for December 25. Or if you spotted something from the hamper you like but perhaps don’t want to buy the whole lot, you can shop some of the items individually here on the Pure Pet Food website.
