Tails.com Christmas collection 2023 including tough Brussel Sprout toy

It’s nearly time to rip open the first door of our advent calendars, and Tails.com has launched a canine countdown to help your dog while away December and get into the festive spirit. The dog-food subscription service has brought back its 25-day advent calendar after selling out last year, and the Scamps are super excited to get their paws on it.

The navy calendar features the slogan ‘Joy Oh Joy’ on the front, opening up like a book to reveal 25 windows amid a very fun illustration of festive four-legged friends. It comes in at £12, making it cheaper than Lily’s Kitchen and Denzels, but more expensive than Scrumbles and Pooch and Mutt, putting it somewhere in the middle when it comes to pricing.

For 2023, the countdown calendar is packed full of delicious biscuits that come in three lip-smackingly festive flavours – turkey, cheese, and carob. It really is the only yuletide trio we need. The daily variety of treats will be sure to give your dog something exciting to look forward to in the run-up to the big day, making it the perfect gift for your pup.

Peeking behind the doors, days 1 through 24 feature a star-shaped biscuit, which is big enough to break in half if you have two dogs like us. Plus, there’s a final bumper treat hiding behind door number 25 so that Phoebe and Frank will be able to have one each on Christmas morning to signal that Santa Paws has arrived.

Made without wheat, these grain free treats have no added sugar, artificial colours or flavours and are suitable for dogs of any size, from 12 weeks old. But if you want it in time for December 1, you’ll have to order before November 27 here.

And while you’re at it, why not pick up the adorable Jack Brussel Sprout toy? This squeaky sprout has been made in collaboration with Beco, meaning he’s not only cute, but durable too. Beco are known for their tough toys and they always last surprisingly well in our toy-destroyer home.

This particular toy is a mouth-friendly shape that’s perfect for catching, tugging and all kinds of festive fun, and has been double-stitched to withstand enthusiastic chewers that little bit longer, too. Jack Brussel is exclusive to tails.com, meaning even if your pooch is familiar with Beco’s toys, they won’t be able to get this one anywhere else. Oh, and what’s even better is that the stuffing is made from recycled materials, making it more sustainable, too.

I really like that Tails hasn’t gone overboard with festive designs like some brands, keeping it nice and simple, affordable, and not overwhelming. The advent calendar offers some exciting festive flavours and a cute extra Christmas Day treat, while the Jack Brussel toy injects some excitement, enrichment and enthusiasm into the holidays season and will no doubt keep your canine companion entertained until their Christmas dinner is ready, and maybe even throughout the Twixmas period.
