Mince pie traybakes and gingerbread chews – inside Denzel’s Christmas range 2023

Denzel is making a list, and checking it twice – gonna find out who’s naughty or nice. And luckily, Phoebe and Frank have found themselves on the nice list this year, meaning they’ve got their paws on the new Christmas range. Featuring some old favourites and some brand new products for 2023, this festive haul is perfect for showing your pooch just how much they mean to you this December.

It’s a truly magical time of year, and the chocolate cocker spaniel, known for his soft and squishy bites and irresistible chews, has been busy in the grotto to bring a whole host of yuletide surprises to dogs up and down the country.

As well as the return of some bestsellers like the Christmas Lunch Bites and Gingerbread Sticks, the latest launch also sees the release of a brand new advent calendar, stocking and delicious mince Pie traybake.

The limited edition gifts are all baked in the UK using natural ingredients to offer a low calorie, healthy treat for your pooch. Not only that, but all of Denzel’s packaging is 100% plastic-free, meaning you can help limit your waste this December.

Here are all the gifts from Denzel’s that your dog is guaranteed to love unwrapping this December.

Denzel’s Advent Calendar – £12.50

Brand new this year, Denzel’s has launched their first ever advent calendar, and for us it’s the star on top of the tree for this seasonal selection. Priced at £12.50, this isn’t your average ‘find a treat behind the door’ calendar. Instead, it’s a beautifully illustrated box filled with 24 bags of treats, featuring six different recipes. First you ‘crack the ice’ then each day, you can pull out a bag of treats from the box, and share them with your four-legged friends throughout the day.

From Duck and Orange bites to Turkey & Nut Butter Bites, each day promises a special surprise. What’s even better is that all treats are made with 100 per cent natural ingredients, and the packaging is 100 per cent plastic-free, aligning with Denzel’s commitment to sustainability, even in the festive season.

You can always count on Denzel’s to do some out of the box thinking, and for me that’s what makes this one of my favourite canine calendars this year. It’s well-priced, well-thought out and really injects some fun into the Christmas countdown.

Mince Pie Traybake – £1.75

It’s not truly Christmas without a mince pie, but since they’re one of the festive foods that are toxic to dogs, Denzel’s has come up with a pet-friendly alternative with their Mince Pie Traybake. The vegan delight is priced at £1.75, and is infused with seasonal flavours of orange, cinnamon, ginger, and cranberries.

Inside every pack there are two chunky chews for dogs to nibble on, which is perfect for a two-dog home like mine. Equally, they’re pretty good for breaking up to feed throughout the day too, as an extra special reward.

Gingerbread Chews – £2.50

Returning due to popular demand are the softly baked gingerbread chews, which are pawfect for spicing up your dog’s stocking this year. Made from a combination of banana and carrot, with added ginger which can settle upset stomachs, this plant-based chew is gluten-free, so can even be enjoyed by dogs who are prone to allergies.

Sure to keep your dog busy enough for you to get the roast out of the oven unscathed, there are four treats in one £2.50 pack, so Phoebe and Frank will be glad to hear they won’t need to share the last one anymore. I love the thought of trying to build a gingerbread house out of these – perhaps Denzel’s should launch a DIY construction kit next year.

Christmas Lunch bites – £2.90

Denzel’s Christmas Lunch Bites offer a seasonal twist to their beloved bites, and are set to be as popular this year as they have in previous. Made with turkey, cranberries, and stuffing, these soft and squishy treats are a perfect way for your pooch to savour the festive flavours.

Denzel’s Christmas Lunch Bites – like the rest of their range – are made from 100% natural ingredients, gently baked in the UK into tasty, bite-size treats. In fact, there’s only eight ingredients on their list, so we know exactly what we’re feeding our pets this Christmas.

At £2.90, they provide an affordable and healthy option for training or on-the-go snacking. We’re all known to put on a few pounds in December, but Denzel said not to worry, because his treats are low calorie, with around 110 treats in each plastic-free packet. We’ve always considered Denzel’s bites amazing value for money, working out at less than 3p a treat, and they’re a great size for popping into enrichment toys too.

Pigs in Blankets bites – £2.90 and Bauble £2.00

No Christmas celebration is complete without Pigs in Blankets, and Denzel’s take on the traditional snack is priced at £2.90. Made with British pork, apple, and honey, these soft, squishy bites are not only irresistible but – like their Christmas Lunch counterpart – low in calories, making them a guilt-free pleasure for your furry friend.

Meanwhile, a smaller pack of these treats are available in the Pigs in Blankets treat bauble. It’s also worth noting that the cost of these products have come down since they were first launched in 2021, with the bauble coming down from £2.99, unlike other brands where we continue to see prices rising.

Denzel’s Stocking – £10.00

Another tradition I love is a Christmas stocking. It’s the first think I look forward to opening on December 25, so Denzel’s has created one specially for your pup. The stockings cost £10 and contain a Mince Pie Traybake, Gingerbread Sticks, Pigs in Blankets bites and a pack of the Turkey and Apple rewards.

This is a great little set to get all your dog’s festive treats snapped up in one fell swoop – my only gripe was that it had been bent slightly to fit in the box for shipping, but other than that it was perfect.

Denzel’s Christmas Grotto Gift Box of Dog Treats – £5

A cheaper alternative to the stocking, which still gets you a variety of treats is Denzel’s Grotto gift box, down from £5.99 last year to £5 in 2023. The special festive gif features 50g of Pigs in Blankets Bites, 50g of Christmas Lunch Bites and 75g of Gingerbread Soft-baked Chews.

The box features Denzel dressed as Santa, and looks like a little gingerbread house – hey, maybe you could use it to build your gingerbread chews house around, decorating it with the bites. You could even use some pet friendly peanut butter to glue it all together!

Denzel’s Christmas Range for 2023 offers a delightful array of treats for dogs, combining festive flavours with natural ingredients and sustainable packaging. With options catering to different preferences and budgets, Denzel ensures that every dog can partake in the joy of the season.
