Adorable Halloween collar accessories for dogs from Wren and Rye

This Halloween, it’s all tricks and treats for our dogs – but they’ve got to look the part for the spooky season, too.

Salford-based pet accessory brand Wren and Rye have re-invented their award winning BowDangle for Halloween, so Phoebe and Frank ordered their Trick and Treat themed box so they could look too cute to spook this October 31.

For £15, the box includes a white or iridescent ghost BowDangle – or BooDangle, as we like to call them – alongside their Black Barking Bats bow tie and a packet of Denzel’s superfood chews. We love that the box contains two accessories, because Phoebe and Frank can wear one each, but if you just have the one pooch, they can wear them both together or separately!

The limited edition BowDangle is a striking white ghost on a black background with engraved features, which means it even stands out on dogs with white coats. Phoebe and Frank both have white chests, and of course, Winston is mostly white, but the ghost looks dashing on all three of them. Complete with a swivel clasp, the BowDangle attaches to the collar like a tag or charm, and looks great on dogs of all sizes. The Perspex is wipe-clean and durable, so you don’t have to worry about them getting muddy on a woodland walk.

Talking about how she came up with the idea for the BowDangle, founder, entrepreneur and dog mum Ash, said: “Our flagship original product, the BowDangle, was inspired by my Ma’s dirty dog walks with Rye and customers at markets with their pups – all those dogs too rough and tumble for your average bow tie.

“The development process was a joy, made by all the doggy early adopters out there, donning their samples up and down the country. Only a year on from being a mere sketch on scrap paper, BowDangles were awarded Highly Commended for Gift of the Year 2020 and a winner in 2021… I could not be more proud.”

Wren and Rye was born in 2018, named after Rye, and Ash’s own toy cockapoo Wren, who joined the pack shortly after their family got Rye. As well as their popular signature BowDangles, they also create a selection of bowties and bandanas, as well as pooch parent clothing and accessories.

Frank looked particularly handsome in the Barking Bats bow tie – a faux leather dicky bow which fits snugly onto his collar with a little bit of persuasion. The backing is a soft felt, and the cut (handmade in Ash’s studio) is so beautiful with a croc-effect finish. Typically, this bowtie would cost £7, and with the BowDangle priced at £8, that already takes you up to the price of the £15 box. That means the Denzel’s chews are thrown into the beautifully packaged gift box for free! You can read more about the Denzel’s chews range here.
