Inside the Hounds Chew Box this July – and how you can get discount!

Phoebe and Frank’s tails have definitely been wagging at the contents of this month’s Hounds Chew Box, with some firm favourites included in the tasty subscription!

Hounds, in Newcastle-under-Lyme – who recently celebrated their fifth birthday – launched the Chew Box subscription in 2018. We’ve been regular buyers of the ever-changing treat box, which is thoughtfully put together by the fur-bulous team each month.

We’ve previously reviewed several of the boxes here:

But for those of you who are new here, here’s a quick summary of what it is!

What is a Hounds Chew Box?

The Chew Box a selection of natural chews selected by the Hounds team. Each month a different selection of chews will be available for your dogs to get their paws on. It’s a great way to trial new and unusual treats for your dogs, and it’s great value as the contents are over £10.

How much is a Hounds Chew Box?

Usually, a Chew Box is £8.49 for a one-off box, or £8.07 when you subscribe. But – you can get an extra 10% off when you use the code SCAMPS, meaning you can pay £7.65 a box, or £7.27 when you subscribe!

So, what’s in the box this month?

Inside this months Chew Box you’ll find some of our ultimutt favourite products, including packaged treats and pick ‘n’ mix natural chews.

We got a packet of Denzel’s Soft Chews in the Superfood flavour, featuring banana, berries and salmon. The flavour in your Chew Box could be any one of their six yummy recipes, and each one comes with a collectible Denzel’s card. These are usually £3, so make up almost half the value of the subscription box in one go. Denzel’s also recently switched out their packaging for 100% plastic-free, biodegradable packaging, which you can read more about here.

Another really handy product we always like to stay stocked up on is the Edgard and Cooper Busy Day Bar. We received the Lovely Lamb and Beef bar in our box – but they also have three other fab flavours that are perfect for taking on day trips and big walks.

From the treat table, the box contained a dark buffalo skin, a natural rabbit ear, and a puffed pig snout. The buffalo skin is The Scamps’ favourite long lasting chew, paws down. It’s a low odour chew that lasts around a week in 15-20 minute daily intervals, so it’s really good value for money. Also low in odour is the rabbit ears which are low in fat, high protein and help with teeth cleaning. Finally, we have the puffed pig snout, which is probably our go-to treat whenever I pop into the shop. They contain a high level of protein, and are low in fat, and contain natural oils which encourage healthy skin and coat.

So, if you fancy trying out a Hounds Chew Box for yourself, you can order them online here – and don’t forget to use the code SCAMPS for 10% off.
