A whole year of Lady & The Scamps

Last August, I launched this little dog blog as a way to keep myself sane during the pandemic, documenting the highs and lows of pet ownership, and sharing our favourite dog-friendly finds.

It’s bittersweet, really, that August 10 not only marks the day this passion project launched, but is also the anniversary of the day we lost our staffy Lyla, in 2017. It also serves as a stark reminder of Frank’s seizure, which was the first thing I wrote about here. Since then, I’ve been really passionate about raising awareness of seasonal toxins, and poisonous plants.

Over the last 12 months, Phoebe and Frank have been my absolute lockdown lifesavers, and together, we’ve published 125 blog posts – from the best dog friendly restaurants and natural treats, to indestructible dog toys (and some not so indestructible toys).

We’ve discovered pawsome Staffordshire walks, with secret waterfalls and woodland walks that end with an ice cream, and we’ve explored dog friendly staycations and the best beaches Cornwall has to offer.

Phoebe and Frank have even been approached by their favourite brands for collaborations, including:

As well as discovered so many more, such as Bark and Shout, Billy and Margot, Doo-Kee, Sea Snax and My Darling Ruby.

We became brand ambassadors for our favourite dog shop, Hounds, offering our readers 10 per cent off with our personal code SCAMPS. We also had an amazing photo shoot with Adventure Pawtraits, and the images are something I will truly treasure forever. And without this blog, it’s unlikely I’d have ever become a Canine First Aider!

I learned to sew my own dog bandanas and bake my own dog treats, as well as took them to a freedom field for the first time. In fact, I found I loved writing about dogs so much that I made it my full-time job at TeamDogs.co.uk!

One of the highlights of the year had to be seeing Winston grow into a gorgeous, confident boy in his forever home over the last 10 months, and seeing him play with Frank and Phoebe each week.

Phoebe, Frank and I have tonnes of content planned, from our annual holiday in Cornwall, to testing out their new PitPats! I want to thank everyone for supporting us and reading our articles each week, and we can’t wait to have you with us for the next 12 months, too!
